Maru is here to support and empower people who are experiencing, witnessing or fighting online harassment by providing real advice and resources from experts and activists
Maru brings together the research and activism of an extraordinary global community of people fighting to end online harassment.
It was co-created with young activists from Benin, Cameroon, Germany, Ghana, Nepal, South Africa and the UK, who are passionate about promoting internet freedom and safety. The name ‘Maru’ translates as ‘Cloud Space’ in Sesotho and was chosen by one of Maru’s young activist co-creators. You can chat with Maru to learn more about online harassment, how to protect yourself from it, report and respond to it, or support others going through it.
